Tipsy lived previously with two adults and one child. She got along “okay” with other cats she lived with. She is described as shy but affectionate. Please note that Tipsy is being treated for an upper respiratory infection at the time of her behavior evaluation. Reaction to assessor: Tipsy is sitting in her litterbox. She makes eye contact and meows gently. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Tipsy allows petting. She does not engage with the assessor or solicit attention, but allows gentle petting down the body. Placement determination: Average Tipsy interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. She has no known history of behavioral problems. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. Her previous owner recommends a home quiet home without young children; the reason for recommending a home without young children is unknown, so we advise any potential adopter with kids to conduct a thorough interaction before adoption.
