TIGERTEE – A1053914
Gone 10-17-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 10/17/15*** ANOTHER cat DUMPED for “urinated outside the litter box”. ANOTHER, NOT NEUTERED cat that has NOT seen a VET for this! A non- NEUTERED male will do this or they could have an infection! Yet the previous owner, who owned TIGERTEE since he was a kitten, just DUMPS his pet at a high kill shelter instead of taking the cat to be NEUTERED and looked at! This 3 year old is, of course, scared at the ACC and has been labled EXPERIENCE for a new owner! Offer to FOSTER or ADOPT this ADORABLE guy! Show him that someone cares and that all humans are NOT like the one who FAILED HIM!

10/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Tiger’s former owner stated he is shy around strangers at first, but quickly warms up. He has never lived with any children. He does not play with children or adults. Tiger lived with another cat and they got along well with each other. They would play gently with one another. Also, best described as Friendly, affectionate and independent. He has a low activity level. Reaction to assessor: Tigertee looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Tigertee remains lying down on his cage bedding, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Tigertee accepts the stroke, head-butts the assessor’s hand, but flinches to sudden movements and becomes cautious with his surroundings. Placement determination: Experience Tigertee tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Also, Tigertee’s previous owners report that he was eliminating urinating outside the litterbox. Tigertee was seen by a veterinarian and has no known medical issues. We are unaware of what, if any, modifications steps were taken to try and address this behavior in the home, so we cannot be sure what the trigger may have been or if this behavior may continue in a future home. However, he is an unneutered male, so we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment.
