TIBBY – A1031364
3-29-2015
Previous |
Tibby is a neutered family pet who loved his former owners, and who lived with fairly young children when things were going well for him. Tonight he has an EXPNOCHILD rating and a spot on the euth list, and needs to find a new foster/adopter who can take him to the vet for some skin issues. It’s amazing that people move into new places and don’t hold out for a rental where their pets are welcome; certainly Tibby is amazed that this sad situation has come to pass. Please make sure Tibby gets to be moved into the Safe album, by sharing him far and wide, tonight.

03/26/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
03/26/15 15:56 BASIC INFO Tibby’s family got him from a pet store 4 years ago. They moved to a home that doesn’t allow pets. PEOPLE Tibby lived with adults, a 0-3 year old, and a 11-14 year old child. He hides from the small child but is friendly and affectionate with the older one. He rubs up against strangers but hisses when some try to pet him. He hasn’t bit anyone. ANIMALS Tibby hasn’t been around other animals. PERSONALITY Tibby’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, assertive, and medium activity. He hangs out in comfy places for most of the day and also enjoys sitting in his owners’ laps. He likes balls and bottle caps and plays exuberantly with people. HABITS Tibby lived inside and slept on a cat bed. He ate dry food and used an open litterbox with clay litter. TRAINING Tibby is littertrained and doesn’t have accidents. MEDICAL Tibby has hairloss, redness, and large blisters (?) on his inner rear legs. BEHAVIOR Tibby scratches walls and doors but hasn’t had a scratching post. He has no other known behavior issues. He doesn’t mind when his family brushes him, picks up and holds him, puts him in a carrier, or wakes him up. He struggles when they bathes him. He’s relaxed in the car. INTAKE Tibby appeared relaxed in his carrier, lying on his front/side, and heat butting his carrier. His pupils weren’t dilated. He hissed while I started scanning him. He slowly walked onto and around the counter while I took his pictures. He sniffed my hand with soft body but his ears pointed back slightly and he hissed when I tried to pet him. He went into a carrier on his own, hissing a few times, and allowed me to shut the door behind him.

03/28/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: Tibby former owner stated he lived with adults, a 0-3 year old, and a 11-14 year old child. He hides from the small child but is friendly and affectionate with the older one. He rubs up against strangers but hisses when some try to pet him. Tibby’s family describes him as friendly, affectionate, playful, assertive, and medium activity. He hangs out in comfy places for most of the day and also enjoys sitting in his owners’ laps. He likes balls and bottle caps and plays exuberantly with people. Reaction to assessor: Tibby looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Tibby remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Tibby accepts the stroke at his own pace. He begins to slowly head-butt the assessor’s hand, but when touched along the body he becomes defensive by hissing and swatting (with no claws). He then returns to solicit more attention while he remains cautious with his surroundings. Placement determination: Experience / no child Tibby tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
