This poor little kitten was brought into the shelter as a stray because he had severe conjunctivits which have caused him to have ruptured eyes. Just looking at him is painful. However, TAPENADE has not let his illness keep him from being a super sweet and affectionate little guy. He seeks attention and petting and got the highest BEGINNER rating! TAPENADE deserves to live and have his eyes attended to, even if it means losing his sight. He deserves to live and would love to have a furever home. Notes: Tapenade was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Tapenade is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but appears calm and relaxed When spoken quietly: does not come to front but appears calm and relaxed Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft and relaxed, follows my hand to the front of the cage Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention, purrs, affectionate Try picking cat up: Tapenade remains calm while purring Placement Determination: Beginner
