***GONE 12/14/15**SWEET BUT SAD MUM SUREN NEEDS RESCUE ANGEL! Suren is a three year old precious angel in need of a holiday miracle. She and several of her kittens were found by sanitation workers in the Bronx and they thought they were doing the family a good deed by dropping them off at the shelter. Several of her kittens were rescued but their protective, shy and scared mom finds her precious life in peril tonight. Suren actually tolerates some petting and handling but is naturally frightened at the kill happy shelter. She has already been separated from her darling babies and tomorrow she will lose all that she has left—her precious life. Can you be THE SOMEBODY to offer this great girl a new leash on life? Please reserve sweet Suren online or let a rescue know if you can help. Transportation is available. Don’t forget that fostering saves lives so let a rescue know if you can offer Suren temporary safe haven. The clock is ticking—not much time left. Make the call for Suren NOW!!!

12/08/15 11:58 Suren A1059918 & her kittens Solei A1059915, Sadina A1059916, Sukia A1059919 & Silas A1059917 (possibly from a previous litter) were brought in by sanitation workers who found them in front of their depot earlier this morning in the Bronx and brought them into our BXAC. They stated the kittens were friendly but mom Suren appears fearful and wants to flee & hide. During intake Suren had to be transfered from a trap into a cat den where she fled to the back and laid down. Suren hissed and attempted to flee when we tried to scan, collar & take her picture. However we scanned her through the carrier and captured a picture while in the cat den.

12/11/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Suren looks anxious in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Suren remains hiding in the cat den, alert with pupils dilated. Reaction to touch: Suren accepts the stroke, but stiffens up in place and began to shiver. Placement determination: Experience / no child Suren tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
