Yet despite his troubles, DAN has an AVERAGE rating. I am a male black domestic mh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 12 YEARS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 04/12/2015 from NY 11204, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

04/14/2015 Exam Type RE-EXAM – Medical Rating is 4 C – SEVERE CONDITIONS , Behavior Rating is NONE, Weight 6.9 LBS.
Hx: Diarrhea, congestion, nasal discharge. S/O: Patient is BAR in cage this AM. Stood up and attention seeking when cage door opened. No urine/stool in litterpan. Ravenous appetite, expressed interest in water. Sneezing noted on exam. No coughing or vomiting observed. Dried diarrhea on hind end. Integument appears to have excessive amount of flaking, dull coat, several tufts of fur easily pulled off all over body. Malodorous Dried crusted nasal discharge, bilaterally Dried ocular discharge (mild) at medial canthus, OU Large amount of dried tan/brown liquid stool caked to hind legs, tail and peri-anally. Anus appears mildly inflamed. Fever resolved this AM (100.5*F) Referred upper respiratory noise on auscultation, nma, nsr. Pale pink mm, sl. tacky. CRT< 2 sec. Approximately 7% dehydrated BCS = 2/9 LH paw appears swollen and inflamed. Patient is tolerable of handling. Small opened wound on distal aspect of paw pad – oozing mild amount of serosanguinous discharge. Ears AU, with severe amount of black crusted debris. No pinnal-pedal reflex present A: 1. Febrile – resolved 2. Unkempt coat – r/o malnutrition vs. underlying enocrinopathy vs. other 3. Leukocytosis – (secondary to foot wound) 4. Dehydration 5. Naso/ocular discharge with congestion – r/o URI 6. Otitis externa AU Prognosis: Fair P: 1. Medical bath scheduled for today 2. Add doxycycline (0.7 mL) PO SID x 10 days. 3. Continue to monitor weight, condition – recheck 4/16. 4. Move into iso 5. Schedule ear cleaning Update – ear swab taken – positive for ear mites. Given 0.09 mL SQ Ivermectin once.

At the time of the assessment he was displaying good behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Dan is displaying behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
