SUNDAE – A1046166
8-3-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 08/03/15***DELICIOUS SUNDAE IS PURRFECTLY HEALTHY & NEEDS NEW FRIEND! Poor Sundae! He and his feline friends were sadly surrendered at the shelter a couple of days ago when their owner decided to move and not take them along. Sundae is naturally stressed being at a scary, smelly and loud place after being a faithful feline companion and housepet for the past several years. He has great manners, playful used to life indoors and despite his fear, scored a respectable experienced no kids rating. He is purrfectly healthy and ready to be your feline friend. Can you help turn things around for this good boy? Please reserve him online or contact a NH rescue for help with transportation (available if you live within a few hours of NYC). Let’s help write a happy ending to sad Sundae’s tale. Make the call for this sweet gingerbread man NOW!!!

08/01/15 08:46 Basic Information Sundae was brought in as an owner’s surrender. Owner said that Sundae is originally from outside, and he gradually socialized him and attempted to make him an indoor cat. Owner says Sundae has all his claws, and says as far as he knows; he has no injuries or health concern. Sundae is said to be litter-box trained, and to be playful with the other cats he lived with. Behavior during Intake Sundae was tense during intake. He hissed, struggled and began to swat with claws out, attempting to scratch when counselor tried to remove him from former owner’s crate. When attempting to photograph, Sundae tried to swat at counselor through carrier.

08/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Sundae was crouched over and focused on the assessor upon approach. He continues to stare at the assessor when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Sundae remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sundae retreats from the assessor’s hand and sits by the corner of the cage. He remains immobile and allows petting on his head, but is wary of the assessor’s hand and remains stiff. When the assessor stops petting him, he curls his body close together and starts to blink. As per previous owner, Sundae was found outside and was gradually socialized in attempts to make him an indoor cat. He is litter box trained and is playful with the other cats he lived with. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sundae tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
