**SAFE 12/17/15**AFTER SEVEN YEARS, STRIPES WAS GIVEN HER MARCHING ORDERS……Her owner moved and didn’t take STRIPES along. Adrift in the alien environment of the ACC, STRIPES is having a hard time. She used to come when her owner called and sat in his lap…there are no laps at the ACC…STRIPES NEEDS A NEW PURRSON TONIGHT!! When at home she was gentle and also independent. So a home with a working purrson, would probably work out just fine….At only 6 lbs, STRIPES is a tiny treasure……CALL OUT THE GUARD TOMORROW AND APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!! BECAUSE THAT’S THE FACT, JACK!!

12/14/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Stripes’s previous owner states that she has no experience with other children or dogs. She has been around her littermates and was playful and gentle with them. She was kept indoors and was described as confident, playful, and affectionate. When the owner called her, she would come and sit on his lap while he pet her. Reaction to Assessor: Stripes had a blanket wrapped around her like a burrito upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Stripes looks at the assessor briefly, but looks around her surroundings after. Reaction to cage door opening: Stripes remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Stripes remains completely immobile as the assessor moves her blanket away. She allows all petting, but remains tense and lip licks. Placement Determination: Experience No Child Stripes tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
