I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 05/19/2015 from NY 10460, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

05/19/15 08:38 During intake cat would retreat from extended hand but after surrenderer left he approached hadn and sniffed it. Allowed to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured, and handled without aggression. When picked up and held had stiff body at first but then relaxed and would press head against hand. Inside new carrier sat at front and when given food was not interested.

05/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Stripes looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Stripes remains crouched down at the back of the cage, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Stripes accepts the stroke and began to submissively walk towards the assessor’s hand with tail down. She then kneads in place and head-butts the hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He remains stiff during pickup and jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Average Stripes interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
