SAFE 04/08/15 TERRIFIC TORBIE NEEDS NEW FRIEND! Sad sigh. Storm is a five year old torbie who was sadly surrendered due to her owner’s “allergies” after her owner had her for her entire life. According to her former owner, “Storm is affectionate, clean, playful and likes to be picked up and held.” Storm received a respectable experienced rating but is NH only because she scratched the admission counselor during intake. This kitty would love to reclaim her place as a pampered house pet with her new purrson. Could that special someone be you? If you can help, please contact a NH rescue for assistance in helping arrange transport of this sad sweetheart directly to you. Let’s offer this terrific torbie a new leash on life. Please be Storm’s rescue angel!!!

04/02/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Owner Profile: Storm was surrendered by her previous owner because of allergies. She lived with one adult. Storm has been around children but she is fearful and keeps her distance. Owner stated Storm will fight and hiss at other cats. Her previous owner stated Storm is affectionate and very clean. Her activity level is high, she often keeps herself busy. She likes to play with balls, strings, stuffed and chasing games. She enjoys being brushed and isn’t bothered by being picked up and held. Storm is litter box trained. Notes:At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Storm is displaying behavior appropriate for a new cat owner. Reaction to assessor: comes to the front of the cage (1) When spoken quietly: stays at front, (1) Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft & relaxed (1) Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention (1) Reaction to toy or novel object: Shows no interest(1) Try picking cat up: tolerant of this type of handling. Placement Determination: Experience Storm was social and affectionate during her behavior evaluation, interacting with the Assessor and allowing all handling. She was hesitant to interact and offering distance-increasing behaviors at the time of intake, so she appears to have acclimated well to the shelter environment and to have warmed up to her caretakers. However, due to Storm’s previous owner’s assertion that she may hide from children and may not get along well with other cats (we are unaware if these are resident cats or neighborhood cats), we feel that an owner with some cat experience, who will allow Storm to adjust to her new home and new family at her own pace, is likely the best match.
