SOCIALIZATION Garfield Jr. and Star are shy at first with new people. They lived with infants and toddlers and were respectful of them. They play exuberantly with adults. They lived in a home with 15 cats and were relaxed, affectionate, and tolerant with them. Star plays somewhat rough with the others. They’ve never bit or scratched anyone. BEHAVIOR The cats cry in the car. They don’t mind when someone trims their nails, puts them in a carrier, or wakes them up. Star struggles when being picked up and held. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Star’s family describes her as friendly, independent, playful, shy, quiet, and high energy. The cats play with bottle caps, balls, and string. They lived inside and ate dry Iams cat food. They get diarrhea when they eat other foods. Star is littertrained, uses hooded and uncovered litterboxes with clumping litter, and doesn’t have accidents. The cats scratch a vertical rope-covered scratching post in addition to the bed and couch. INTAKE Star had a soft body and wide eyes while we pet, scanned (-), collared, picked up, positioned for pictures, and put her into a kennel. She was easy to handle and didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.
