***SAFE 08/02/15*** SPRUCE IS A ONE YEAR OLD KITTEN FOUND IN THE BASEMENT OF A HOUSE WITH A FEW OTHER CATS – OWNER DECIDED TO KEEP ONE AND DUMP POOR SPRUCE IN THE ACC!! SPRUCE is a very handsome boy who is only about a year old. He is shy but friendly and got a great AVERAGE rating on his behavior assessment. SPRUCE was found in the basement along with a momma cat and 3 kittens. This owner decided to keep momma and bring the 3 kittens and SPRUCE into the ACC. All 3 kittens are now SAFE but poor SPRUCE IS NOT!!!~ SPRUCE IS A SWEET BOY AND NEEDS SOMEONE TO GIVE HIM A FUREVER HOME. HE IS FRIENDLY AND EASY TO HANDLE AND WAS PURRING FOR HIS ASSESSMENT. GIVE SPRUCE A DEATH ROW PARDON TONIGHT BY OFFERING TO FOSTER OR ADOPT!!

07/16/15 20:50 Spruce, a female cat, and the three kittens were found in the basement of the owner’s house about a month ago. Owners decided to keep the mother cat, but wanted to wait until the kittens were old enough to bring them to ACC. Clients had very little interaction with cats and just left food and water for them. Spruce was very timid, but allowed the counselor to collar him. He did not wish to leave the carrier and would not eat wet food that was presented to him

Reaction to Assessor: Spruce was resting in his cage upon approach. When softly spoken to, he lifts his head up and blinks. Reaction to cage door opening: Spruce remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Spruce head-butts, begins to purr, and lifts his butt up when pet on his lower back. Reaction to being picked up: Spruce remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Average Spruce interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
