Springfield came to the shelter as a stray, so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies in a home environment. Upon intake, Springfield was hissing and growling and did not allow handling. Reaction to assessor: Springfield is sitting atop his den. Reaction when softly spoken to: Springfield hisses at the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Springfield spits at the assessor and retreats into his den. Reaction to touch: Springfield does not allow petting. Placement Determination: New Hope Only Springfield avoids interaction with the assessor and does not allow handling. Springfield is exhibiting behavior suited to rescue partners.
