Reaction to Assessor: Spots was inside a hidey box upon approach. She doesn’t come out when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Spots remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Spots attempts to avoid touch and shifts away from the assessor’s hand. She hisses and swats when attempting to touch her again. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Spots is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. she has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and she does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
