SPOT – A1043606

***GONE 07/17/15*** NORMAN AND SPOT ARE FATHER AND DAUGHTER WHO HAVE LIVED IN THE SAME HOME ALL THEIR LIVES AND WHOSE FORMER OWNERS MOVED AND LEFT THEM BEHIND! ‘Gentle, plays with toy mice, sleeps on bed with owner’ is what is said of 4 year old NORMAN and 3 year old SPOT, his daughter. there is another daughter cat, not listed tonight. NORMAN and his daughter will die together, without rescue, ACC has no real feelings about this. Please, if you can, pull these cats-offer to foster them for a rescue. They would be wonderful cats for someone looking to bring in cats who know each other and would be good together. NORMAN AND SPOT were shy and tried to ‘get away’ when being examined, but theres good chance they haven’t ever been out of their home before and because of this, would do well in a home again! They aren’t cats who stand out, and overlooked, could be put to sleep. Please don’t let that happen-please let this little family have a life together! Save them!!!

07/11/15 13:17 Spot is a 3 year old tortie cat that has been with her owner for 3 years. She was born in her home. She was surrendered along with her dad and sister (litter group K15-022468- A1034605, 607) due to a move out of state. The owner states that she has only lived with adults and her cat family. Spot is a shy cat that will usually be in the same room as her sister and dad and owner. THe owner states she doesn’t like to be picked up and held and she will struggle to get free. She has a medium activity level and will play with toy mice. THere are 2 litter boxes, 1 covered, 1 uncovered and Spot has always used the litter box. She does jump on the kitchen table and counter tops. Spot eats dry food and will sleep in the bed with her human and the other cats. At intake, the counselor did not attempt to handle due to Spot’s farther becoming fractious and her owner stating that she and her sister wil be the same way. In the carrier she remained quiet and burried her head so she wasn’t able to see anything.

07/16/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Spot was inside her hidey box upon approach. She does not display any reaction when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Spot remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Spot watches the assessor’s hand and remains immobile inside the box when pet. She displayed no further reaction during the interaction. As per previous owner, Spot has only lived with adults and other cats. She is a shy cat that will usually be in the same room with the family. She doesn’t like to be picked up and held, and will struggle to get free. She will play with mouse toys and has a medium activity level. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Spot tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
