*** GONE 11/06/15 *** SPECK IS ANOTHER GUY WITH A BUM RAP…..His notes say that he attacks people, yet his bio says that he has never bitten or scratched anyone???? Then it says that he was aggressive with the seven other cats in the household and yet he is unneutered….The Deck is really Stacked against SPECK. SPECK is actually a nice, seven year old who needs to be in the right space with the right purrson, which he clearly wasn’t….PLEASE GIVE SPECK A CHANCE TONIGHT!! THERE ARE SO MANY THINGS RIGHT WITH HIM!! And a different arrangement will bring out his best….OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT HIM TONIGHT!!

11/03/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/03/15 12:10 Basic information: Speck is a 7 year old male domestic short hair who had to be surrendered because of his high pray drive. His previous owner had him for 7 years and found him as a stray. He has no known injuries or health problems but has never been to a vet. The two things his previous owner liked most about him were; he’s friendly, and playful. Social Life and Personality: Speck has not been around children, or dogs. When he is around other cats he is aggressive; he attacks, hisses, and scratches. He is litter box trained and was kept indoors only. His activity level is medium and he can be described as playful, friendly, quiet and independent. Behavior: Speck has never bitten a person or animal. Her previous owner never attempted to give her a bath, pick her up or trim her nails. She enjoys being brushed. When placed in a carrier she struggles and hisses. She isn’t bothered if she is disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Speck used clumping cat litter in an uncovered litter box. He likes to play with balls with bells inside. When his previous owner was home he would tend to be in the same room and when she played with her previous owner she was exuberant. She ate dry Friskies cat food and at night she slept in her carrier. Behavior during intake: Speck allowed me to pet him but his body was low to the ground, he had dilated pupils and would flee when taken out of the carrier.

11/05/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Speck’s former owner stated he has not been around children, or dogs. Also, lived with 7 other cats, but becomes defensive around them. His activity level is medium and he can be described as playful, friendly, quiet and independent. Reaction to assessor: Speck looks tense in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Speck remains crouched position at the back, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Speck accepts the stroke on the head, but stiffens in place and flinches during the touch. Then along his back he hisses at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Speck tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
