08/23/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Sparco was hiding behind his litter box upon approach. He focuses on the assessor when softly spoken to. Reaction to cage door opening: Sparco becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Sparco hisses and backs away from the assessor’s hand. He lip licks and tries to avoid touch. He does not allow touch; when attempting to pet him, he hisses and swats. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Sparco is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
