09/19/15 18:32 Sookie is a black and white female cat who is approximately 3 yrs. old. Sookie was surrendered at ACC today by her previous owner. She is not spayed appears healthy but will undergo a full physical health exam. She is described as being calm and friendly. Sookie has been socialized with children cats and dogs. When she is around all three she is relaxed respectful and tolerant of them. When she is interacting with children cats and dogs she is gentle affectionate well behaved and friendly. She is an indoor cat who is litter trained. She is described as being confident mellow friendly affectionate quiet and independent. She has a medium activity level and she can become nervous when traveling in cars by meowing. Sookie has never been given a bath or had her nails trimmed. She is not bothered when she is picked up and held placed inside of a carrier having her fur brushed or disturbed from her sleep. She uses clumping litter in a closed litter box. She likes to play with balls stuffed and squeaky toys and catnip toys and will engage in chasing games as well. She does not have a scratching post but will scratch furniture on occassion. She eats dry food twice a day and does not eat any treats. When Sookie is in the house she will follow her owner around the house and will also stay in the same room with them. She likes to stay in the bedroom and she will sleep anywhere in the house. During the Intake process Sookie was calm and well behaved. She allowed herself to be picked up and held with no issues. She also allowed herself to be transferred into a new carrier with minimal effort. She allowed herself to be collared and photographed and displayed no negative behaviors.

Owner Profile: Sookie has been socialized with children, cats and dogs. When she is interacting with children, cats and dogs she is gentle , well behaved and friendly. She is an indoor cat who is litter trained. She is described as being confident, mellow, friendly, affectionate, quiet and independent. She has a medium activity level and she can become nervous when traveling in cars by meowing. Notes: Sookie was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history or tendencies previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, comes to the front of the kennel, interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. Sookie is displaying behavior appropriate for a beginner cat owner. Reaction to assessor: comes to the front of the cage, soliciting, rubbing against the cage front When spoken quietly: stays at front, continues soliciting attention Reaction to door cage opening: remains soft & relaxed Reaction to touch: solicits petting and attention Try picking cat up: Sookie is tolerant of this type of handling.
