10/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sofrito is social and affectionate but appears to be easily overstimulated and plays roughly. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Sofrito becomes overstimulated. We also recommend fishing pole-type toys for play as they allow for interaction and vigorous, stimulating exercise while keeping human hands at a distance. Reaction to assessor: Sofrito comes to the front of the cage – soliciting attention and reaching out with paws. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sofrito stays at the front – continues to solicit attention. Reaction to cage door opening: Sofrito remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Sofrito rubs against the assessor’s hand, and then begins to solicit rough play by gently swatting with his paws. Behavior Determination: Experienced, no children. Sofrito solicits attention and tolerates petting but may be assertively demanding of attention or may play roughly. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his or her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children
