***SAFE 04/21/15*** PLAYFUL CALICO CUDDLER, DUMPED TO A MOVE, IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY, BUT WILL NOW DIE DUE TO HER FEAR – PLEASE GRANT SMORES A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Three-year-old calico charmer SMORES was betrayed by her old owners, who stuffed Smores into the kill-happy ACC when they MOVED to new cat-free digs. At home, Smores was PURRfect: “Loves to play, Enjoys Petting, Uses a scratch post, Loves to cuddle & be picked up, Likes to sleep in bed with the people, Always uses the litter box, Likes to play a little rough but is a good cat.” But poor Smores is TERRIFIED and acted defensively during her behavior test, so the ACC wrote her off as a New Hope Only behavior problem, to be “CURED” with a lethal injection at noon tomorrow, despite the fact that she’s PERFECTLY HEALTHY! Please start RIGHT NOW to apply to foster or adopt betrayed calico lovebug SMORES from the approved New Hope rescue groups! If you can’t save SMORES yourself, please SHARE her sad story and PLEDGE for her rescue!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: Smores former owner stated she loves to play, enjoys petting, uses a scratch post, loves to cuddle & be picked up. Reaction to assessor: Smore looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Smore retreats to the back of her cage, hisses at the assessor. Reaction to touch: Smore does not allow the stroke, strikes, hisses, and charges at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Smores is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
