SMOKEY – A1047351
***GONE 08/21/15*** SMOKEY is a stunning female orange and white tabby cat who has fallen on hard times. Imagine being in the same home for 8 years with cat brothers and sisters, and suddenly being brought to a shelter because your owner couldn’t care for you anymore. SMOKEY is very afraid and not trusting of people right now. With some love and patience, she could be a great cat companion. She is available through New Hope Rescue only. Please don’t let this sweet but scared girl cat’s life end today!

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Notes: Smokey was bought into the care center by her previous owner due personal problems. No information about his behavior was given. Smokey seems to not be thriving in this environment and at the time of the assessment she was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. Smokey may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time. Reaction to assessor: hisses upon approach When spoken quietly: continues to hiss Reaction to door cage opening: becomes alert Reaction to touch: growls, hisses, strikes, does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: did not attempt to pick up Smokey due to fractious behavior Placement Determination: NewHope
