07/19/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
07/19/15 18:09HRS BASIC INFORMATION Skip is a 5 year old neutered domestic shorthair cat. He was originally adopted from another shelter 4 years ago with his feline housemate Petunia (A1044647) by their owner. They are being surrendered because a new family member developed allergies to them. SOCIAL LIFE & PERSONALITY Skip’s owner describes as a playful, affectionate yet reserved cat. He enjoys be being petted by his owner. He lived with children aged 7 to 17 and played well with them. He allowed all petting and being picked up. He also lived with his housemate Petunia and got along well with her. They would play, sleep and eat together. BEHAVIOR Skip was not bathed nor had his nails trimmed in his owner’s home. He was brushed occasionally and enjoyed it so much; he would meow while being brushed. Skip would greet visitors to the home by approaching them and rubbing herself against their legs. Skips owner stated that he enjoyed rolling around on the carpet, rubbing his back against it. He is litter box trained and shared the litter box with Petunia in the home. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Skip is an affectionate cat that enjoys being petted. He was accustomed to clumping litter in a hooded litter box. He played with balls and exuberantly with rubber bands. He did claw at the owner’s carpet and upholstered couch. He did not have a scratching post at home. He was free fed dry cat food and slept at the foot of his owner’s bed. During the cold winter months, Skip would rest ontop of the cable box in the home because of the heat. DURING INTAKE Skip was crouched towards the back of his carrier. When his carrier door was opened he remained crouched in the back. When he removed from his carrier, he attempted to run and hide repeatedly but allowed the Admission’s Counselor to hold him. He was collared, scanned for a microchip (positive) and photographed without displaying any aggressive behavior.
