11/19/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sketcher was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. She was very fearful upon intake and was thrashing about in her carrier in an attempt to escape. She was also very nervous during her initial medical exam, and also tried to flee. Reaction to assessor: Sketcher was inside a hidey den upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sketcher slowly comes out of the den Reaction to cage door opening: Sketcher attempts to flee. Reaction to touch: Sketcher does not allow contact; she continues to flee whenever petting was attempted. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Sketcher is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She is extremely fearful in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
