05/02/15 13:47 BASIC INFO Sheba’s owner got her as a gift 5 years ago and surrendered her due to cost. She’s been vomiting and meowing often and shedding excessively lately. SOCIALIZATION Sheba has only spent time around her owner. She hasn’t bit/scratched anyone. She kills mice. BEHAVIOR Sheba scratches furniture. She enjoys being picked up and held. She doesn’t mind being bathed, brushed, or woken up. She struggles a little when put in a carrier. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Sheba’s owner describes her as friendly, affectionate, quiet, independent, playful, shy, and medium-high activity. She plays with balls and plays gently-exuberantly with people. She follows her owner and sits on her. Sheba lived mostly indoors and slept on the bed. She are Friskies and 9 Lives dry food. She used an uncovered litterbox with crystal litter. She’s littertrained and doesn’t have accidents. BEHAVIOR DURING INTAKE Sheba retreated to the back of her kennel and lied down. She was tense and looked around while I collared, scanned (negative), pet, photographed, picked her up, and put her in a carrier. She was easy to handle and didn’t resist/vocalize.

Reaction to assessor: Sheba looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Sheba remains crouched down at the back, alert with eyes wide open. Reaction to touch: Sheba allows the stroke, but lip licks in place and remains immobile. Placement determination: Experience Sheba tolerates attention and petting, but may be fearful in the shelter. The owner-surrender’s profile mentions behavior concerns like scratching furniture: She may have some behavioral issues that will need to be addressed in the home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
