08/12/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Shampoo does not come to the front, but remains neutral inside her cage. She looks at the assessor when softly spoken to, but blinks and looks away afterwards. Reaction to cage door opening: Shampoo becomes stiff and alert, and starts to growl. Reaction to touch: Shampoo hisses and backs away from the assessor’s hand. She rushes forward after to sniff the hand, but does not allow touch; her ears bend flat against her head and she swats. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Shampoo is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. She has tried to swat and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
