10/09/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Shammy was hiding when I approach cage When spoken quietly: Shammy continues to hide Reaction to door cage opening: Shammy starts to hiss Reaction to touch: Shammy growls, hisses, strikes and does not allows petting at all Try picking cat up: Did not attempt to pick up due to his behavior. Behavior Determination: NewHope Shammy seems to not be thriving in this environment. Shammy at the time of the assessment was displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and may require further investigation before placement in a home. He is extremely fearful and currently does not tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
