***GONE 10/30/15*** SUPER SHADOW IS A GREAT CAT WHOSE OWNER DUMPED HIM AND NOW HE CAUGHT THE COLD AT THE SHELTER AND WILL DIE FOR IT! SHADOW’s owner gave the reason of “destructive” for his reason in dumping his 3 year old cat. However if you read his intake info, there is nothing except good things written about SHADOW. He is not destructive – he is just a cat who was discarded for no reason!! SHADOW was said to be playful and did not scratch on anything but likes to play with rolled up socks!! 10/14/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Shadow is described as playful, shy, and quiet with a medium activity level. Shadow lived with a 14-year old boy, and was said to be playful and affectionate with him. Reaction to assessor: Shadow looks neutral in his cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Shadow remains sitting upright by the front of the cage, meowing attention. Reaction to touch: Shadow head-butts the assessor’s hand, but began to stress meow then swat with no claws after a few strokes of petting on the head and body. Placement determination: Experience Initially Shadow solicits petting and attention, but after a few soft passes over the body he begins to stress meow and swat. This may be a sign of petting-induced aggression, where repeated physical contact results in discomfort for the cat, or it may be a sign of overstimulation. As a result of this observed behavior we recommend adopters who are familiar with signs of behavioral arousal and agitation in cats, so that interactions can be ended before Shadow becomes reactive. Treats should be used to reward appropriate responses to physical attention.
