This great little girl who’s just nine months old, came into the shelter with a wound on her precious paw and despite a good prognosis, sweet Selma is sadly slated to become another ACC stat when tomorrow afternoon rolls around. Despite spending some time on the street, Selma has purrfect manners—she’s a head-butting, beginner rated purring machine. I am a female brn tabby and white domestic sh mix. The shelter thinks I am about 9 MONTHS old.
I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/19/2015 from NY 10458, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

11/19/15 17:06 Basic information: Selma was brought in as a stray. The finder found her in the street, the finder placed Selma in a cat carrier and brought her to the shelter. No other information could be provided during intake. Intake Behavior: During intake Selma was somewhat tense with stiff body. Selma allowed to be scanned (negative), collared, pictured and placed in a cat kennel.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Selma was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder was able to place her into a carrier and bring her to the care center. She was somewhat tense upon intake, but allowed handling throughout the intake process and during her initial medical exam. Reaction to assessor: Selma meows softly and was calm, relaxed, and friendly. Reaction when softly spoken to: Selma comes to the front and head-butts the cage door. Reaction to cage door opening: Selma remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Selma head-butts, begins to purr, and leans on the assessor. Reaction to being picked up: Selma remains calm and allows handling. Behavior Determination: Beginner Selma interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
