SEA KING – A1042294
7-8-2015 Brooklyn
***GONE 07/08/15*** SEA KING WAS BROUGHT INTO THE SHELTER WITH A WOUND ON HIS FACE THAT REQUIRED STITCHES AND MEDICAL CARE – NOW AFTER HIS PROGNOSIS WAS SAID TO BE EXCELLENT, THE ACC WILL JUST KILL HIM ANYWAY! SEA KING came in with another cat and her kittens named Ursula (A1042291) who is not listed tonight. This very handsome boy was friendly and very hungry when he came in. He allowed all handling at intake. But on his behavior assessment the big plastic fake hand just didn’t do it for this smart cat so because he didn’t purr and roll over his behavior rating was EXPNOCHILD. Since SEA KING came in as a stray nothing is known about his prior behavior in a home situation. He is about 2 years old and will most likely settle down once in a safe home environment. SEA KING will need a follow up visit to a competent vet for the wound and any other relating injuries. BUT THE ACC IS PLANNING TO END THIS BOY’S LIFE AT NOON WEDNESDAY. PLEASE DON’T LET THEM MAKE HIM A STATISTIC – HOW DO YOU TREAT AN INJURED CAT AND THEN KILL HIM ANYWAY? CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO FOSTER OR ADOPT SEA KING AND LET HIM LIVE!

07/06/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to Assessor: Sea King does not come to the front, but remains neutral inside his cage. When softly spoken to, his eyes wander around and he blinks slightly. Reaction to cage door opening: Sea King remains immobile but becomes alert. Reaction to touch: Sea King lowers his head and tilts his ears sideways during the interaction. He is tense, but allows gentle touch on his head and body although he is wary of the assessor’s hand. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sea King tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
