08/06/15 11:57 Basic Information Scrappy was brought in as an owner’s surrender, due to owner’s child having allergies. Owner says she has had Scrappy since he was a baby, and says as far as she knows he has no injuries or health concerns. When asked what she likes most about Scrappy owner chose how friendly he is. Personality & Behavior Scrappy is described as Confident, playful, and affectionate with a medium activity level. Scrappy has lived with owner’s 11-year old, and is said to be affectionate and play gently with him. Owner also says that with the 6-year old cat Scrappy lived with, he was very playful with him and they could sometimes get a little rough with each other. Scrappy has been kept mostly indoors; owner says he sometimes goes outside. Owner says Scrappy is litter-box trained, and rarely has any issues. Owner says she hasn’t had any issues with Scrappy biting anyone or another animal. Owner says she hasn’t attempted to bathe him, but states he is unbothered with having nails trimmed. Owner says Scrappy enjoys being brushed, and enjoys being picked up and held. For a New Family to Know Scrappy usually uses an uncovered litter-box with the clumping form of litter. Owner says Scrappy enjoys all toys and scratches on carpet. Owner says sometimes Scrappy usually follows her around when home, but other times rarely seeks attention. Scrappy cries during car rides, and owner says he eats dry food in a variety of brands. Owner says Scrappy likes to sleep in small corners of the home, and is unbothered if disturbed while sleeping. Behavior during Intake Scrappy was friendly, but a bit afraid during intake. He allowed me to pet and stroke his fur, and allowed all handling. Scrappy stood still for photo, and showed no signs of aggression during intake.

Reaction to assessor: Scrappy immediately comes soliciting at the front of the cage. Reaction to door opening: Scrappy remains at the front of the cage, soft and relaxed, soliciting attention. Reaction to touch: Scrappy rubs on the assessor’s hand and appreciates petting on the head and body. Reaction to Being Picked up: He calmly jumps back into his cage. Placement determination: Beginner Scrappy interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
