06/27/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
06/27/15 09:06 Schezuan A1041691 is a young black tabby DSH feline who was found in the finders neighborhood and they felt badly and brought Schezuan in. The finder stated Schezuan was friendly and hungry which made luring him/her into the carrier that much easier but did allow the finder to pet him/her. During intake Schezuan was calm in the carrier. Once the carrier door was opened he/she jumped out onto the floor where he/she allowed me to scan (-) him/her, collar & take his/her pictures. Schezuan allowed me to pick him/her up and place into the kennel and once in was vocal for a few minutes and will speak to you when you speak to him/her and make cute sounds. Schezuan appears to not appreciate being touched on the hindquarters.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Schezuan looks tense in her cage when approached by the assessor. Reaction to door opening: Schezuan remains hiding in her cat den, alert with pupils fully dilated. Reaction to touch: Schezuan does not allow the stroke, growls, and hisses at the assessor’s hand. Placement determination: NH ONLY Schezuan is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room. She is stressed in the shelter environment and does not currently tolerate petting. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
