SASSY – A1058345
Gone 11-23-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 11/23/15*** ANOTHER OWNER DUMP because the owner was too lazy or incompetent to find a new dwelling that is cat-friendly! One would think that an owner of a cat, a cat that had been theirs for the 4 years of the cats whole LIFE, would find it in their hearts to take their pet with them! BUT NO! INSTEAD, just drop SASSY off at the nearest HIGH KILL SHELTER and go on your merry way! The SASSY girl is scared and confused and doesn’t know why her owners did this! She wonders if they are coming back. THEY ARE NOT! But YOU CAN be the next owner of this GORGEOUS girl if you offer to FOSTER or ADOPT her! She needs EXPERIENCED cat parents with no children, at least until she gets used to her new surroundings. Give her that chance to live!

11/19/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
11/19/15 10:09 BASIC INFO Sassy is a 4 year old female DSH cat. Her family got her from a pet store 4 years ago and surrendered her because they’re moving to a home that doesn’t allow pets. SOCIALIZATION Sassy is shy with new people for a few minutes. She plays exuberantly with people and has never bit/scratched anyone. She hasn’t spent time with children or other pets. BEHAVIOR Sassy is nervous in the car and while being put in a carrier. She doesn’t mind when someone bathes her, brushes her, holds/restrains her, or wakes her up. FOR A NEW FAMILY TO KNOW Sassy’s family describes her as friendly, affectionate, playful, and medium energy. She follows her family around and sits in their laps. She plays with balls and stuffed toys. She lived inside, slept on a cat bed, and ate dry cat food. She’s litterbox trained, uses an uncovered litterbox with clumping litter, and doesn’t have accidents. She doesn’t scratch anything. INTAKE Sassy was tense and curled up in her carrier while we pet her, scanned her (-), collared her, and picked her up. On the table, she was stiff and clung very low to the table, looking around a little during her pictures. She was tense while we picked her up and put her in a kennel. She didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize during handling. In her kennel, she curled up in the back.

11/22/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sassy’s previous owner states that she is shy with new people for a few minutes. She plays exuberantly with the people she is comfortable with and has never bitten or scratched anyone. She has not spent time with children or other pets. Her family describes her as friendly, affectionate, and playful with a medium energy level. She follows her family around the home and sits on their laps. Reaction to assessor: Sassy becomes stiff and alert upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sassy’s ears tilt slightly sideways, looks at the assessor, and blinks slowly. Reaction to cage door opening: Sassy lowers her head and hisses. Reaction to touch: Sassy’s ears bend flat against her head, but she allows gentle petting on her head. She starts to growl and is very tense, but remains immobile throughout the interaction. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Sassy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. She may need time to warm up to her new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
