SASHA – A1032932

SAFE 04/18/15 – SAD SASHA WAS DUMPED FOR A NEW BABY! NOW THIS 10 YR OLD SENIOR WILL DIE FOR BEING HOMELESS! Sasha’s owners had a new baby and tossed their old baby out the door like trash! How could they? Then we read on to find that Sasha also had some litterbox issues however, the ACC vet found she has some bladder or urinary tract problems. This was something the owner should have rushed her to the vet for, and it would have not only made her feel better but stopped litterbox accidents. Sadly, they dumped her instead. Sasha is a beautiful 10 yr old girl and is already spayed. She is said to be very talkative and loved to follow the family around the house. She also uses her scratch post and is very social. Sounds like the purrfect kitty to me! PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO GET SWEET SASHA OFF DEATH ROW AND INTO A LOVING HOME WHERE SHE BELONGS.!!

04/12/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
04/12/15 10:51 Sasha is a 10 year old cat who has lived with her family her whole life. The family can no longer keep Sasha due to having a new baby in the home and not having time to work with Sasha and her new litter box issues. Clients stated that Sasha has been going outside the litter box for the past three months. She always goes directly next to the litter box in the same room. They state that the litterbox is cleaned twice a day and the type of litter and location of the box has not changed. Sasha has not seen a vet for this issue. Sasha is described as a very talkative and social cat who enjoys playing with older chidren. She uses a vertical scratching post made of sisal rope and loves her mouse toys and balls. They have never attempted to pick her up but they do pet her all of the time. Sasha enjoys following the family around the house and lounging at the windo. She is free fed Science Diet dry food Sahsa was very nervous during intake and would soflty growl when staff member approached. She stayed in the back of the cage with eyes wide open and stereotypic vocalization. Did allow staff member to scan for microchip, but not to collar her.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Please take note: Sasha is described as a very talkative and social cat who enjoys playing with older chidren. She uses a vertical scratching post made of sisal rope and loves her mouse toys and balls. Sasha former owner stated she has been going outside the litter box for the past three months. She always goes directly next to the litter box in the same room. We advise any potential adopter to be prepared for this behavior, and prepared manage it if it appears in a future home. Methods of managing and attempting to modify this behavior can be discussed with the Adoption Counselors. Reaction to assessor: Sasha looks neutral in her cage when approached by the assesssor. Reaction to door opening: Sasha remains crouched down on her cage bedding, alert with soft eyes. Reaction to touch: Sasha accepts the stroke then stands with tail up and head-butts the assessor’s hand. However, she yowls during the touch then becomes overly aroused and hisses at the hand. Placement determination: Experience / no child Sasha tolerates attention and petting but may be stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
