SAMMY – A1033379
4-26-2015 Brooklyn
***SAFE 04/26/15 *** SUPER SAMMY WAS DUMPED BY HIS OWNER FOR A NYC HOUSING BAN AND NOW POOR SAMMY WILL DIE EVEN THOUGH HE IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY! Sammy was given to his former owner by a neighbor. Sammy is a very active and spunky boy who needs attention and exercise. Consequently, because he was not getting his needs satisified, he occasionally would be a bit rowdy and didn’t get along with the other cat in the house. Sammy would be a great cat for someone looking for a companion to keep him company and entertained. Sammy has good house manners and is totally healthy. He will sadly die now because he is homeless. CAN YOU GIVE THIS YOUNGSTER A PLACE TO CALL HOME? PLEASE CONTACT A RESCUE NOW TO ADOPT OR FOSTER SAMMY.

04/21/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPNOCHILD
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sammy came to us as an owner surrender on 4/16/15. It is reported by the previous owner that Sammy does not like when visitors come to the house and he will hiss at them as well as hide from them. The previous owner also stated that Sammy was more tolerable around them, but has bitten the owner in the past as well. Sammy could be seen in the kennel with neutral body language. He cautiously comes to the front of the kennel when the assessor approaches, but retreats quickly when the kennel door is opened. He seems fearful of the assessor but is curious to interact with the assessor. The behavior department believes that Sammy can go to an experienced home with no children. Reaction to assessor: does not come to front but remains neutral (2) When spoken to quietly: comes to front of cage very cautiously-reaching out with paws, tries to interact but is fearful (2) Reaction to cage door opening: Retreats (3) Reaction to touch: Moves away from you to avoid being touched (3)
