**SAFE 11/28/15** AWESOME SAM HAS SURVIVED A TOUGH TIME…..He has a fractured leg which can be fixed and he has a good prognosis and what does the ACC do? Put him on the list!! SAM also came in with gasoline on him so who know what kind of dire situation he was saved from only to end up facing another dire and fatal situation tomorrow…..SAM is a three year old sweetheart who leans into petting and closes his eyes…..DON’T LET THIS YOUNG GUY BE LOST TOMORROW!! I came in the shelter as a STRAY on 11/22/2015 from NY 11212, owner surrender reason stated was STRAY.

Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sam was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He allowed all handling upon intake and showed no signs of aggression. He was also easy to handle during his initial medical exam. Please note that this cat is being treated for a medical condition at the time of evaluation. It is difficult to determine at this time how the medical condition may be affecting the behavior. He has been noted to express agitation when his injured leg is touched. Reaction to Assessor: Sam was calm and relaxed upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Sam shifts his body, lies down, and closes his eyes to rest. Reaction to cage door opening: Sam remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Sam remains in place, leans into petting, and closes his eyes, Reaction to being picked up: Sam remains calm, but may growl with extensive handling. Placement Determination: Average Sam interacts with the observer, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. In spite of an injury this cat remains social and affectionate. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents.
