***SAFE 12/13/15*** TOO MANY CATS..AND WHOSE FAULT IS THAT?? Sweet SAM is just over a year old and was “bred at home”. But it wasn’t much of a home, because here SAM is now at the ACC….A volunteer writes: I am Sam. Sam I am. I’m a young male tabby, rather handsome, if I do say so myself. I need a little coaxing to come out and play but once I warm up, I am all yours. Just drop by and see how nice I am. ‘Cause I am Sam. I am….SAM has lived with other cats and right now he is a little fearful at the ACC. But this boy will blossom with some love and time….SAVE SWEET SAM TONIGHT!! APPLY TO FOSTER OR ADOPT HIM NOW!!

11/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Sam behavior was monitored by the enichment faciliator prior to his evaluation. They noticed Sam is very nervous and tense in the care center. Sam was bought into the care center due to his previous owner having too many pets. Reaction to assessor: Sam does not come to front but remains neutral When spoken quietly: Sam does not come to front but remains neutral Reaction to door cage opening: Sam remains motionless Reaction to touch: Sam seems indifferent to my presence and touch Try picking cat up: Sam is tolerant of this type of handling but tense. Behavior Determination: Experience At the time of the assessment Sam was displaying timid behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remains motionless as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
