BEHAVIOR: BEGINNER
Rusty was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He had a soft body upon intake and allowed the counselors to pick him up, hold him, and place him onto the counter. He was also easy to handle during his initial medical exam.
Reaction to Assessor: Rusty was calm, relaxed, and friendly by the front.
Reaction when softly spoken to: Rusty head-butts the cage door and starts to purr.
Reaction to cage door opening: Rusty remains soft and relaxed.
Reaction to touch: Rusty rubs his head on the assessor’s hand, rolls over onto his side, and is very affectionate throughout the interaction.
Reaction to being picked up: Rusty remains calm and allows handling.
Placement Determination: Beginner
Rusty interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
