The owner has had Rusty since he was a kitten and is being surrender because the owner’s new home does not allow pets. Rusty has not been to the vet recently but has no known health problems or injuries. The owner states that she loves how friendly and affectionate he is. Social Life and Personality: Rusty has lived with adults and two children. The children ranged from infants to 16 years old. He is relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and gentle during play with the children. Rusty has lived with another cat and they were relaxed, affectionate, tolerant, and exuberant during play with each other. He has been around a small dog but was slow to warm up to the dog. He is litter box trained and does not have any accidents outside the litter box. He has been kept indoors and has a low activity level. The owner describes him as playful, confident, shy, mellow, friendly, affectionate, quiet, and independent. Behavior: Rusty has never bitten a person or another animal. He enjoys baths (he plays in the tub with running water), being brushed, and being held. He is not bothered when having his nails trimmed or woken up from sleeping. For a New Family to Know: Rusty is used to clumping litter inside an uncovered litter box. He likes to play with string and balls. He scratches on his vertical cat made out of carpet. When people are home, Rusty can usually be found in his favorite spots. He is free fed cat food. His favorite plays to sleep are couches and the bed.
