RUGBY is 5 year old and has dental/oral issues that need to be treated….One would think that a BEGINNER rated creamsicle would be on the adoption floor and not on the kill list…..but when it’s the ACC, one would be wrong…..Being out on the street takes its toll on cats. RUGBY NEEDS HELP!! PLEASE CONSIDER FOSTERING THIS FRIENDLY GUY IF YOU ARE IN THE VICINITY OF NYC…..The rescue will help with the vet bills and RUGBY can heal and find a forever home!!….DON’T DO NOTHING, DO SOMETHING!! 12/02/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
12/02/15 15:07 Rugby was found outside. He approached his finder and went into her carrier with little encouragement. Rugby had a soft, relaxed body while we scanned him (-), collared him, pet him, positioned him for pictures, picked him up, and put him in a kennel. He lied on the counter and looked around during his pictures. He didn’t resist, retreat, or vocalize.

12/04/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – BEGINNER
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Rugby came into the care center as a stray, so we cannot speak to his behavior in his previous home. He has been soft-bodied, social, and easy to handle since intake. He was interactive and affectionate with the assessor. Reaction to assessor: Rugby is resting in his kennel. He rolls onto his side when the assessor approaches, then stands and walks to the front of the cage. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains soft and relaxed. Reaction to touch: Rugby head-butts the assessor’s hand and appreciates forehead rubs. He eventually rolls onto his side again, allowing strokes down his body. He continues interacting with the assessor, stretching out and pushing into the assessor’s hand, until she steps away. He remains at the front of the cage, rubbing his cheeks on the cage bars, after the assessment finishes. Placement determination: Beginner Rugby interacts with the Assessor, solicits attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat can go to a beginner home.
