**SAFE 06/20/15** Breathtaking RUE is an EXPERIENCE-rated boy who has lived with a dog, comes running if you call him, and will eat your syrupy pancakes if you let him. How cool is that? Rue lucked out a couple of years ago when his former owner found him on the street as a kitten and took him in, but circumstances have definitely taken a huge nosedive for poor Rue. Rue is the sort of cat that will be someone’s once-in-a-lifetime love, if only that “someone” steps up to foster or adopt him tonight! Please find room in your heart and home for him, because this is a very special pet who deserves far better than to be killed by the shelter and dumped in a landfill, tomorrow.

The owner states he jumps on the kithcen table and counter. He will try to ear your pancakes with syrup if you are eating them. The owner states that he will flee thr front door, but most of the time will come back when called. THe most he has left for is 15 mintues. The owner staes that all h has to say is “Rue come back” and he will turn up with in the minute. Rue did live with a dog at one point. Rue was relaxed around the dog, but sometimes the dog got too invasive playing with Rue’s tail or smelling him too much and Rue would get irritated and puff his tail. Other than that, they liked eachother. When Rue escapes the home, the owner says he is friendly with the strays. Rue always uses the litter box and allows his owner to bathe him in the tub, but if he does not hold him down, Rue will exit. Rue also allows his owner to clip his nails. Rue uses Fresh Step litter and a hooder litter box. He has a cat tree with a scratching post made of rough rope. At intake, he allowed all handling.

Owner Profile: Rue lived with one adult, but children did come around. The previous owner stated that he was friendly with everyone and would allow all handling. Rue was an inside cat with a very high energy level. Rue lived with a dog and was relaxed around the him, but sometimes the dog got too invasive playing with Rue’s tail or smelling him too much and Rue would get irritated and puff his tail. The previous owner says Rue is friendly with the stray cats. Rue is litter box trained. Notes: At the time of the assessment Rue was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Remained motionless as I started to get closer but after a steady slow approach using soft voices he relaxed a little and I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I was also able to pick him up and although he was tense no fractious behavior was display. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Placement Determination: Experience
