***GONE 09/05/15***Just when you think you’ve heard every excuse in the book for surrendered pets,a NEW one comes along! For 3 year old, ROXY,that is such the case. The SPAYED girl was DUMPED because of an issue with fleas! FLEAS! Are you kidding? Ever heard of FRONTLINE or a VET? So now ROXY feeling unwanted, sits in the ACC just waiting to be killed. She had lived with another CAT and two adults but never around kids or dogs. Still,sweet ROXY received a GREAT AVERAGE rating! Have it in your heart to FOSTER or ADOPT her. Fleas are SO treatable! Let her face be burned in your brain as the one whose life you saved!

08/21/15 16:54 Roxy is a 3 year old gray tabby with white domestic shorthair female spayed cat who is being surrendered because the owner cannot resolve an issue with flees. Roxy has been in the home since she was a kitten. Roxy lived 2 adults and 1 other cat who is her brother. Both cats are indoor only and owner describes them to be playful and affectionate with one another. She has not been to small children or dogs. Owner reports they do not entertain visitors to the home. Roxy uses a litter box with fresh step litter. Roxy will struggle for a bath and nail trim but is not defensive and is reported to be tolerant at the groomers. Roxy enjoys being brushed but prefers not be picked up. Roxy likes to play swat and chase with balls and toys mice. She does not have a scratching post but will scratch rolled up blankets that the owners make for her and she enjoys that. When the family is home she likes to be where they are. Roxy mostly likes dry food but can be picky is described as having a sensitive stomach. Upon intake Roxy was receptive to introduction and head butted counselors hand. Roxy was receptive to petting but resistant but not defensive to handling. Counselor was able to scan for microchip (negative) collar and photograph. Roxy was easily replaced to the carrier.

Notes: Roxy at the time of the assessment she was displaying friendly behavior, did not come to the front of the kennel but interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting.
