ROCK – A1037963

***GONE 06/03/15*** RARE SECOND CHANCE FOR THIS POOR SCARED KITTY NAMED ROCK!! MAKE IT COUNT TONIGHT!!! NO ANSWER WAS GIVEN FOR WHY ROCK’S OWNER WAS DUMPING THIS ONE YEAR OLD TABBY – NOW THIS POOR TERRIFIED CAT IS NEW HOPE RATED AND HAS ONLY THE HOPE SOMEONE WILL SEE THROUGH HIS FEAR AND SAVE HIS LIFE TONIGHT!! ROCK’s owner brought him in and gave NO ANSWER as to why. This is so sad because ROCK who may have been a very relaxed and sweet cat is totally freaked out at the fact he is in the shelter and was slapped with the old NEW HOPE ONLY rating. This cat will need you to contact a rescue to pull him to safety. New Hope ratings are often unfair as they only measure the cat’s fear in the shelter and not his purrsonality in a home. GIVE ROCK A ROAD OUT OF THE ACC AND INTO A HOME BY CONTACTING A RESCUE NOW TO PULL HIM TO SAFETY. ROCK IS A 1 YEAR OLD KITTEN AND DESERVES TO LIVE. GIVE HIM THE FREEDOM RIDE HE DESERVES TONIGHT!!!

06/01/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Rock was hiding inside a box upon approach. When softly spoken to, he becomes alert and is focused on the assessor through a hole on the box. Reaction to cage door opening: Rock remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Rock does not allow touch; he hisses and swats at the assessor’s hand by the opening and starts to growl. Behavior Determination: NH ONLY Rock is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, is extremely fearful in the shelter environment, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
