04/13/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – EXPERIENCE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Robin becomes alert when approached. When softly spoken to, she meows softly and focuses on the assessor. Reaction to cage door opening: Robin remains motionless. Reaction to touch: Robin was hesitant at first, but allows touch. After a little while, she warms up and begins to purr. Eventually, she comes to the front, her tail flicks up, and head-butts the assessor’s hand lightly. When petting stops, she retreats, curls up in the back of the cage, and looks at the assessor with relaxed eyes. Note: Robin was brought in as a stray, so we cannot speak to her behavior in her previous home. The finder reported her to be very timid, but displayed no aggressive behaviors. She attempted to flee and hissed when cornered during her initial medical exam, but did not lash out. Behavior Determination: Experience Robin tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter. She may be a little more independent, and may need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents.
