RIVER – A1047397
Safe 9-21-2015 Manhattan
*** SAFE 09/21/15 *** CRY ME A RIVER…..Yet another sad case of an owner who said they were “moving” yet clearly brought their cat with medical problems to the ACC and dumped them. RIVER is only a year old, already NEUTERED and his former owner had this to say: “His previous owner had him since he was 6 weeks old and got him from a shelter in Brooklyn. The last time he went to the vet was 8/9/15. A few things he liked most about him were, he is very affectionate, likes to curl up next to him when he laid down, and he is very energized. Social Life & Personality: Around other cats river is relaxed and affectionate and is gentle when he plays. He is litter box trained and was kept indoors only. He has a high activity level, his previous owner stated he is always discovering something and likes to be active.” RIVER CERTAINLY DESERVES BETTER THAN THIS…..He deserves a home where he will not be abandoned because he needs vet care and he deserves a home where he will cherished for all his wonderful, inquisitive qualities….RIVER’s problems are problems that can be controlled with medication and diet. PLEASE OFFER TO FOSTER OR ADOPT RIVER TONIGHT!! The rescue handles the vet bills when you foster, so you have time to make RIVER feel loved…..DON’T WAIT…HELP HIM NOW!!
A volunteer writes: This friendly little tabby baby has the most adorable habit of lying on his back and exposing his belly when human friends stop by his kennel to say hi. It’s a sign that he’s trusting and submissive, a gentle loverboy who gets high marks from volunteers and is well-behaved with all. River is quiet, can sleep through anything, and has a funny way of spreading his legs apart when he takes his power naps. He’d be a great addition to almost any kind of home, as long as he gets to feel cherished and safe. Come meet this all-around purrfect best pal today.
Another volunteer writes: River is a playful, friendly tiger tabby who is just one year old and raring to go – go -go, but not so quickly that he can’t take time out for lots of snuggles.

08/10/15 21:15 Basic Information: River is a year old neutered brown tabby. His previous owner had him since he was 6 weeks old and got him from a shelter in Brooklyn. He has a high activity level, his previous owner stated he is always discovering something and likes to be active. River can be described as playful, confident, friendly, affectionate, independent and quiet. Behavior Issues: When he’s given a bath River struggles. He enjoys being picked up or held. He struggles when being put in a carrier and isn’t bothered if he is disturbed while sleeping. For a New Family to Know: River used crystal litter in a hooded litter box. She liked to play with string and balls. She doesn’t scratch and when her previous owner was home River liked to follow her around and be in the same room. When she played with her previous owner she was gentle. She ate wet and dry meow mix and healthy choice cat food. At night she slept anywhere. Behavior During Intake: River was very quiet and went in and out of her crate easily. She allowed me to pet her and hold her. She showed no signs of aggression.
