(2) Reaction to cage door opening: Remains motionless. (2) Reaction to touch: Seems indifferent to my presence and touch. (2) Reaction to being picked up: Tolerant of this type of handling. Notes: Richard came to the shelter as an owner surrender with limited profile. At the time of the assessment, Richard is displaying neutral behavior. He neither interacts with nor avoids the assessor, and is tolerant of all handling. Richard seems to be stressed and requires experienced cat parents to help him adjust to another new environment.
