***GONE 06/08/15*** “PLAYFUL, AFFECTIONATE, LOVING” KITTEN WHO LOVES HUGS AND KISSES, DUMPED FOR “TOO MANY PETS”, IS PERFECTLY HEALTHY BUT WILL NOW DIE DUE TO HER FEAR – PLEASE GRANT REESE A DEATH ROW PARDON!!! Cute-as-a-button 11-month-old calico and brown tabby kitten REESE was sadly surrendered to the kill-happy ACC by her former owner, who had “TOO MANY PETS”. Poor Reese was dumped along with her sister RORY (A1038479, still available in the Urgent album). At home, this exuberant kitten was PURRFECT: “Reese is known to be a very affectionate and playful cat. She plays with children and adults, often very gently. She is relaxed and tolerant of other cats, often engaging in rough play. Reese loves affection, and frequently seeks attention from others. Reese is described as a playful, affectionate, and loving cat. Her owner reported that she loves kisses. She loves to run, having a medium amount of energy. She is often following her owner or sitting on her owner’s lap while at home. She also sleeps in her owner’s bed. She is said to enjoy being held and brushed. Reese would do well in a home where she can receive lots of hugs and kisses while plenty of time for play.” But Reese is TERRIFIED at the scary ACC shelter, where she was PUNISHED with a New Hope Only behavior rating and fast-tracked to the noon kill list for tomorrow. Please make sure Reese lives to get MANY hugs and kisses! 06/02/2015 PET PROFILE MEMO
Basic Information: Reese is an 11 month old brown torbie domestic short haired cat. She came into AC&C with her sister cat Rory after her owner reported they were unable to handle the care of the cats due to having too many animals as well as coordinating a feral colony. Reese was last at the vet in October 2014, and appears to be in good health. Socializing: Reese is known to be a very affectionate and playful cat. She plays with children and adults, often very gently. She has never been around dogs but is described to be relaxed and tolerant of other cats, often engaging in rough play. Reese loves affection, and frequently seeks attention from others. Behavior: Recently, Reese has been having litter box accidents. The owner thinks this is due to her going into heat, which appears to be the only time she is going outside of the box. She is mostly spraying during heat, otherwise will use a litterbox without problem. Reese has never bitten a person or another animal. For A New Family to Know Reese is described as a playful, affectionate, and loving cat. Her owner reported that she loves kisses. She loves to run, having a medium amount of energy. She is often following her owner or sitting on her owner’s lap while at home. She also sleeps in her owner’s bed. Reese scratches on a vertical post made of cardboard. She eats both dry and wet food, usually mixed together, and likes Purien Naturals, Kitten Chow, and 9 Lives. Reese shares two litter boxes with other cats, one hooded and one covered, and both boxes using clay litter. Reese becomes fearful when being put in a carrier or when getting her nails trimmed, but is tolerant once she is calm. She is said to enjoy being held and brushed. Reese would do well in a home where she can receive lots of hugs and kisses while plenty of time for play. Behavior During Intake Reese was fearful, with a timid body and whale eyes. She was not handled by the counselors and was resistent during transport.
