SAFE 06/15/15***SIX POUND-FRIENDLY TEENY CAT RAISIN! HERE SINCE APRIL! A staff member writes, “Raisins are delicious little morsels that have transformed over time from a tart grape to a sweet and soft treat. Just like the snack, Raisin the cat has transformed over time. Making the transition from alley cat to well taken care of shelter cat can be difficult. At first, Raisin was not too pleased. He was like a sour grape. However, after a couple weeks of livin’ the life at the ACC he totally warmed up and turned into a sweet, lovable feline that would be absolutely perfect for any home! Raisin has proven that he is resilient and he would be an excellent family cat. You’re missing out if you don’t meet this sweetie today!
Raisin is a staff favorite! He has been here for two months! When he first came in he was a little bit nervous, but after warming up, he has received an average behavior rating. I visit Raisin in his cage every day. He greets me at the front of his kennel and when I open the door he will roll over and expect to be pet. He will then try to slither out of the cage, on his back, trying to get as close to me as possible. He loves to receive and GIVE attention. Help this sweet kitty find a home today!” Let’s get busy to ensure that sweet Raisin finds his purrmanent home. It’s up to you. Be his rescue angel.

05/27/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Raisin appears to have acclimated well to the environment and to his caretakers. In the adoptions room he is social and interactive, seeking out attention from his visitors. Reaction to assessor: Raisin is at the front of his cage, soft bodied, soliciting attention by reaching through the bars. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains at the front, body soft. Reaction to touch: Allows all petting and handling. Placement determination: Average Raisin was a bit timid when he first arrived at the care center, but he has shown himself to be a social, affectionate, engaged cat. He interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents. 4/30 eval: Notes: Raisin was brought to the care center as a stray so we don’t have any behavioral history previous to what we are seeing during the evaluation. At the time of the assessment he was displaying fearful behavior; does not seek attention from the assessor and becomes alert when the kennel was open. Retreats as I started to get closer. I was able to pet him and interact with him in a limited way. I did not attempt to pick him up because he will try to flee. We recommend that this cat go to a home with experienced cat parents. Reaction to assessor: was hiding when I approach cage (3) When spoken quietly: continues to hide (3) Reaction to door cage opening: retreats (3) Reaction to touch: seems indifferent (4) Try picking cat up: not tolerant of this type of handling, very afraid, tries to flee. Placement Determination: Experience
