Five year old is yet another faithful feline friend sadly betrayed by her former folks, surrendered due to “personal problems.” . This lovely lady lived with her family which included children, a Chihuahua and a shih tzu and got along great with them as she did with just about anyone she met. She loves to be pet, have her coat brushed and getting picked up and held. She even allows people to trim her nails and give her a bath. This precious angel aced her behavior eval with an awesome pawesome average rating but is slated to become another sad ACC stat when tomorrow afternoon rolls around. Let’s do everything we can to ensure that this great girl ends up as her new purrson’s snuggle partner. Won’t you please be this terrific tabby’s rescue angel? 09/25/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – AVERAGE
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Racie lived prevously with children, around whom she was affectionate and played gently. She has also lived with other cats and small dogs, and interacted well with them. She is described as “playful, confident, mellow, friendly, assertive, talkative, affectionate, and independent.” Racie’s previous owner reports that she was eliminating outside the litterbox a few times a week, but we are unaware of what, if any, modification steps were taken to try and address this behavior. Please note as well that we have very limited information about Racie’s previous living situation or the details of the inappropriate elimination. We cannot be sure whether this behavior will continue in a different home environment, but we recommend that potential adopters be comfortable with management and modification techniques for elimination outside the litterbox should this behavior continue in a home environment. We also recommend that Racie be provided with numerous litterboxes throughout the house as she adjusts to her new living space. The extra boxes can be removed as she learns the space and successfully eliminates in her main litterbox(es). During the behavior evaluation Racie was social and interactive with the assessor. Reaction to assessor: Racie is resting in her litterbox. Reaction to cage door opening: Remains in place, body relaxed. Reaction to touch: Racie allows all petting on the head and body, though she does not approach the assessor. Placement determination: Average Racie interacts with the Assessor, appreciates attention, is easy to handle and tolerates all petting. This cat is showing behavior appropriate for new or experienced cat parents
