***SAFE 11/22/15*** 9 year old QUINCY and litter mate, 7 year old NOVA are being DUMPED because their previous owner didn’t have the decency to look for a new dwelling that was cat – friendly! Not just one, but two lives hang in the balance because of the owner’s incompetence! QUINCY is DECLAWED and has limited vision due to scarring and is said by the owner to be blind in one eye. He is already NEUTERED and ready to go! NOVA is SPAYED so she is also just ready and waiting to go! These two look-alikes may not need to go together but in your heart, how could you split them up? Both need experienced cat parents with no children. Offer to FOSTER or ADOPT this duo,NOVA is QUINCY’S eyes, and QUINCY is NOVA’S heart!

He can play rough with people and will hiss, swat, and try to bite when around people he does not know, but once he does get comfortable he will allow all types of handling. Around other cats, he is relaxed, affectionate, and respectful. There are moments when he plays rough with them too. He will hiss, swat, and struggle when woken up. He tends to be in the same room as his owner, be in his favorite spot, or sit on someone. Reaction to assessor: Quincy is meowing and yowling by the front upon approach. Reaction when softly spoken to: Quincy hisses and starts to yowl even louder. Reaction to cage door opening: Quincy becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Quincy allows brief touch when approached very slowly, but starts to hiss and does not allow further contact. Behavior Determination: Experience No Child Quincy tolerates attention and petting but may be fearful or stressed in the shelter, and may be intimidated by small children. He may need time to warm up to his new home. Due to the behaviors seen in the care center, we feel that this cat will do best in a calm, quiet home with experienced cat parents and without children.
