PRINCETON – A1043389
7-13-2015 Manhattan
***GONE 07/13/15**** PRINCETON WAS ABANDONED IN THE ACC IN A CARRIER WITH A NOTE STATING HIS ORIGINAL OWNER PASSED AWAY! 7 year old PRINCETON has a NEW HOPE ONLY RATING and it’s obvious this poor frightened boy hasn’t been loved by anyone, nor cared for, in a long time. He is in extreme danger, for a cat with a ‘New Hope Only’ rating, 7 years old, labeled ‘fractious’, and black with an uncared for coat means this guy is in deep trouble and will die tomorrow. It’s so very unfair! The note states that whoever took PRINCETON in had a dog and PRINCETON didn’t get along with the dog. Well, no small matter there-PRINCETON had lived with one person and probably wasn’t introduced to the dog properly. Now, this 7 year old boy will die, the very picture of neglect, an unwanted, unslightly, pushed off cat in a sea of cats, held down by a rabies pole and killed. Yet…if one looks beyond the poor coat to the soul within-PRINCETON is like any other frightened and grieving cat who simply needs a place to decompress and learn to trust. Cats behavior at the ACC is not an indicatition of how they will be in a home. PRINCETON needs you tonight. He needs someone who isn’t afraid to say ‘I will foster him’ and brings him home. PRINCETON’S coat can be fixed, and he can learn to love again-but he needs you for that. Please open your heart to this boy…his picture is not who he is-and it’s obvious that whoever wrote that ‘note’ didn’t much care for him-please give him a chance at love and life. SAVE PRINCETON-he is so in need of being loved.

07/12/2015 BEHAVIOR EVALUATION – NH ONLY
Exam Type BEHAVIOR
Reaction to assessor: Princeton was calm and relaxed upon approach. When softly spoken to, he focuses on the assessor and begins to growl. Reaction to cage door opening: Princeton becomes stiff and alert. Reaction to touch: Princeton hisses at the assessor’s hand and swats it without nails as a warning. He continues to growl and when attempting to pet him again, he would swat at the hand harder. Note: Princeton was left in the care center lobby with a note attached to the carrier. It had very little information about his behavior in his previous home. It was noted that he doesn’t like sharing attention with other animals. He doesn’t like to be brushed, but likes being rubbed on his head and the sides of his face. Behavior Determination: New Hope Only Princton is displaying behaviors that preclude placement in the adoptions room and/or may require further investigation before placement in a home. He has tried to swat, bite, and does not currently tolerate petting or handling. The behavior department feels that placement with a New Hope Partner is the best option at this time.
